24/10/09 - Congratulations to our very own APRIL MALIN for winning a top award in the NORTHAMPTON COUNCIL SPORTS AWARDS. April now goes forward to represent Northampton at the county awards and we wish her well with that.
Further congratulations go to Katy Sanders, Steve Hill, Matt Jones, Mark Oliver and Alan Smith for winning Spike's Quiz Night on Friday. Many thanks to Spike and Denise Milligan, Carole Jones and Lorraine Rutter for their help putting the event on. £15 profit was put back into the club funds and it was an enjoyable night.

20/09/09 - This weekend the U13s and U15s both recorded good wins at the start of the season, and the East Midlands ladies team recorded their second win in a row. Please don't forget the Race Night on Friday. It is all set to be a good evening.

13/09/09 - Well done to both ladies teams who picked up their first points of the season today. A new team photo of the Jags is now available on their team page.
Many thanks to "the Jones family" (Matt, Elly and partner, and Carole) for representing the club at the Cogenhoe fun day.

06/09/09 - The website is now about ready for the new season. The fixtures/league tables/match reports sections are ready to go. The East Midlands ladies league is already underway. The team pages are also in the process of being updated.

21/08/09 - The new logo has been chosen by a large majority. The first one won, although we have since moved the text slightly and contained it within a diamond, which is carried on from the diamond shape appearing in the original logo. All new club shirts will now have the new logo and all club stationary etc will start to change over to the new version. Here it is:
New Logo

12/08/09 - KLGFC are thinking of adopting a new logo.
Logo 1, 2, 3
Option two is to keep the existing logo. There is also a suggeston to use an updated version of the existing logo (just the old one shown above). Please let us know what you think. Feedback can come via the website, the Facebook site, or your manager. The most popular will be adopted as the logo for future seasons. We are hoping to get feedback in time to get the logo in place for this new season.

The club car rally was held today. Many thanks to Ian Rutter and his wife for setting the rally, Carole and Matt Jones, and Lindsey Swaine for the Barbeque. There was a good turn out on an enjoyable day, with ten teams and more turning up for the BBQ/footy. The winners, Phil + Sue Adkins, with Robert and friend are pictured with their trophy below. They won out after a tie-breaker against Amy Milligan, Dannie Charlton and partners Adam and James.

More photo's in telephone boxes (!) can be seen on the club's Facebook page (link above).
After a drink and the BBQ, the men beat the players 10-9 in a close and entertaining football match, which everyone enjoyed.

23/07/09 - A messsage from the Chairman...
Myself and Colin were invited to Sixfields Stadium on tuesday night to the 2008 Charter Standard Club Awards.
It was a fantastic honour to be awarded THE CHARTER STANDARD DEVELOPMENT CLUB OF THE YEAR. All other clubs winning awards were male orientated.
The training and work by managers, sorting out lifts, numerous phone calls etc. etc, the reffing and line runners and catering by helpers from each team; the way the tuck shop is run, the web site informing every member, the work on the pitches, marking and mowing; the new toilets/changing rooms, setting up and cleaning off, the events put on at presentation night, trip to cobblers, race nights and quizes; the way the committee has progressed the club with good books and healthy bank balance and many other things, have achieved this award.
It is an honour to be Chairman at the time of this award and receive it on the club's behalf and thank the FA. Please pass on the thanks of the club to all the people in your team and helpers, without them we would not have gained such recognition.
We were awarded with a certificate which has been put up in the tuck shop with a pennant, and we also received a £50 umbro voucher.
Once again, well done! Steve Hill - Chairman Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls FC.

The Under 15s entered two teams into the Woburn Tournament, with two players from the Under 14s. The whites finished third in their group, thanks to a bizarre late goal in their last game. The Reds finished equal first but were placed second on goals scored. They then played Moulton Magpies in the semi-final and won with the score of 3-0 (Sorry Becca - one of our Ladies players that coaches Moulton!). Then the reds played Cambridge City, who had won their semi-final on penalties. The final was a very tight game that went all the way and finished 0-0 AET and again went to penalties. The Reds held their nerve 3-2 to win the tournament. Congratulations! The Ladies competed in the same tournament and lost in the semi-final to a very good Ditton Ladies side. Compliments to Woburn Lionesses for a very well organised tournament.
The under 12s and two Ladies teams entered the tournament at Boldmere Falcons in Birmingham. Again this was a well run tournament, held at a Goals centre. The under 12s unfortunately lost the semi-final on penalties. The ladies finished as runners-up and picked up some nice trophies. The honours page has been updated accordingly

17/06/09 - George Chaplin has accepted the offer to be part of the Under 14’s Northampton FC Girls Centre of Excellence next season; she will miss her friends, team and the club but also thanks the team for supporting her in the decision.
Joanne Gilding has also been given an extended 6 week trail which starts in July. Good luck
The award winners from Presentation Night are now available in the Stats --> Season Awards section.
A mixed u15s/u16s team won the Milton Keynes tournament. Well done girls! They won their group, then won their semi-final 3-0. The final like many of the games was a tight affair and it was 0-0 after extra-time. Kingsthorpe held their nerve to win on penalties. A second team lost the semi-final of the plate competition on penalties.

04/06/09 - WELL DONE to the Under 12’s Girls for picking up the first silverware of the summer, winning the Parklands Tournament on the 24th May. Kingsthorpe won a close semi-final, getting through by a sudden death penalty scored by Becky. They went on to beat local rivals Duston in the final. Manager Mirek Urban said, "Well done team you all did fantastic, and keep up the hard work at training." A photo of the trophy presentation has been added to the U12s team page.
We are looking for new players for the Ladies teams, including a goalkeeper. We need to add good experienced players to the squad in the higher league and other players to join the other developmental team. Next year's U10s/11s are also currently recruiting for new players. Please get in touch if you are interested.

27/05/09 - Please note that the sponsored walk date has changed due to a clash with Father's Day. However, the Ladies team will remain on the original date. See below.
Statto has been working hard and this year's stats are now online. See the stats/season stats section to check out how your team performed this year. There are also stats for how the whole club fared this season, and also stats for the club since we formed. Some selected facts:
Since forming the club now has an overall goal difference of +988!!! Let's get above +1000 next year!
This season, as a whole club, we won 71 games, but lost only 51. We only lost 19 home games, compared to 28 away.
The Ladies team equalled the club's biggest ever win; 25-0 away at Moulton. This equalled the Under 11s (Pumas) 25-0 home win that has stood since 2003. The Club/Records page has also been updated.
The Ladies Jaguars team scored a goal every 18 mins and 12 secs. The under 16s team only conceded every 62 mins and 12 secs.

22/05/09 - We are looking for new players for the Ladies teams, including a goalkeeper. We need to add good experienced players to the squad in the higher league and other players to join the other developmental team. Next year's U10s/11s are also currently recruiting for new players. Please get in touch if you are interested.

26/04/09 - Congratulations to the Under 14s who secured 3rd place in the league, which is an excellent achievement after a tough season.
Congratulations to Harriet Denton, Rochelle Swaine and Jess Astle, who all scored their first goal for Kingsthorpe after many games for the club.

05/04/09 - Congratulations to Rebecca Williams for scoring her 50th goal for the club. In fact, Becca is now on 57 goals, as she scored 10 in the Ladies 25-0 win over Moulton Fields.
We are collecting the Tesco vouchers for schools/clubs. Please save yours for KLGFC and hand them in to the collection box in the tuck shop.
Happy Easter from all at Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club!

05/03/09 - The club are currently looking for new referees and are willing to pay for FA refereeing training courses for interested people, in return for your commitment to refereeing our games. 18/01/09 - A winning weekend for Kingsthorpe. Every team won, except the Ladies who were unlucky to lose a brilliant Country Cup Quarter final on penalties.
Well done to the under 12s who join the U16s ub the county cup final. We're already building up quite a Kingsthorpe party at the cup finals!
Katie Light's goal in the Ladies 3-0 win over Kettering Town last week made her the 150th Kingsthorpe player to score for the club!

16/11/08 - Congratulations to the U16s Leopards who brilliantly reached our first cup final of the season! (Yes... I know it's still November!) They put in a brilliant performance to beat Earls Barton 5-0 in today's semi-final. Meanwhile, the Ladies progressed to the quarter finals with an excellent 11-3 win over Woodford United. Continuing with the weekend's good results, the U15s managed an impressive 7-0 win over Earls Barton and the league-leading Ladies Jaguars team also earned an excellent 1-0 win away at Abington Athletic.

12/11/08 - KLGFC is on Facebook! Join the group and keep in touch with all the club members. We will also post information about forthcoming events on there to keep everyone in touch. Add your own team photos, comment on other photos and/or leave a message for people in the club to read. Spread the word and let's see how many fans we have! If you're on Facebook (or join it) follow the link here

26/10/08 - Everyone at Kingsthorpe LGFC would like to congratulate Danielle Charlton on becoming the first ever player to score 200 goals for Kingsthorpe. From her first goals in under 14s 7-a-side in November 2002 through to Women's football in October 2008; a fantastic achievement of which we are all very proud. Well done Dannie! Dannie scored her 200th from the penalty spot, and then bagged a brilliant 20 yard left footed strike in the Ladies 5-2 victory over local rivals Abington Athletic.

12/10/08 - A big KLGFC WELL DONE to Maisie Brudenall who scored her 100th goal for the club, which was the second of two quality strikes in the Jag's 10-1 demolition of Moulton Fields this afternoon. Maisie becomes the fifth KLGFC player of all time to reach the magic 100 mark.

17/09/08 - Congratulations to Lauren Smith who reached the magic 50 goal mark with a double at the weekend taking her to 51. Meanwhile, Maisie Brudenall is just 6 away from becoming the fifth ever player to reach 100 goals for the club. Dannie Charlton is now also just 5 away from becoming the club's first ever player to reach 200 goals.

15/06/08 - The club honours and records pages have been updated. The most notable honours this season were FOUR teams finishing as Weetabix League runners-up and FOUR League Cup finalists (two winning). The main addition to the records page is Bethany Watts' 6 goals against FC Aztec registering her as scoring the most goals by one individual in a Ken Burton League Cup game. Statto's been busy and the full stats package will be added to the site in the next few days.
A reminder of the dates for your diary...

11/05/08 - A great day for Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club, with three teams competing in the Weetabix YFL League Cup Finals at Corby Triangle, the Under 11s, Under 14s and the Under 17s (Jags). Well done to all the teams, especially the U11s and U17s who both overcame their League champions to win the Cup. An excellent photographic celebraton of the day can be found here.
A new photo of the Ladies team has been added to their page.

Another magazine front cover 06/03/08 - Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls FC appeared in the national female football magazine Fair Game this week. The article features a report of the Ladies winning the cup semi-final, along with a photo of them celebrating! Click here to see the article on the Fair Game website. We also made the front cover of Midlands Football People (pictured).

Further coverage of the game, including FIFTY FIVE photographs (all three goals are captured, there are four great shots of the second goal and one of the winner hitting the back of the net), can be found on Glenn Lawrence's website www.ladiesfootball.moonfruit.com.

12/02/08 - The race night was a success and made some money to help support the club. Many thanks to those who attended and/or sponsored a race or a horse.

20/11/07 - Well done to Hannah Glasspool for becoming the 14th Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls player to reach the magic 50 goal mark. Hannah needed four goals this week to reach 50, but not content with that, Hannah fired home SEVEN in the Under 13's 11-0 win over Drayton Grange!!! Lauren Smith is currently the next player in line to reach 50 goals for the club.

12/11/07 - Scoring a lot of goals? The club records page has been expanded (found under 'Club' above). It now includes records for the highest number of consecutive games scored in, and also the most consecutive games a player has scored a hat-trick in. For example, Charlotte Burrows scored a hat-trick in 6 consecutive games in 2004, and scored in 35 consecutive games!!!
Have you got any suggestions for imporvements to the website? If so, please let us know using the contact page. It's your website so we'll try to give you what you want.

20/08/07 - Please remember that the club is run by volunteers and we are always looking for more volunteers to help out. This can be anything from coaching to marking pitches, to helping in the tuck shop, to becoming part of the committee. At the moment we particularly need someone to take minutes at monthly committee meetings and referees for the games of all teams. If you can help (with ANYTHING), please don't assume that you are not needed because nobody has asked you specifically. Volunteer! We need you! Please see any manager or committee member for more information or to volunteer. The club can also be contacted via the Contact Us pages of this website. For those not interested in volunteering, please try to support any of our fun days and activities, and encourage friends and family to do the same. Not only will you all have a great time, but it raises valuable funds to keep the club going. Thank you.

23/07/07 - Thanks to everyone who attended all or part of yesterday's fun day. Everyone had a great time and we also raised over £70 for the club. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered to help make the event possible and so enjoyable.
The football was won by the men, who confidently (if not skillfully) beat the girls in a closely contested and enjoyable game. There were some great skills (ish) and some embarrasing moments (definitely) to remember!
The quiz was won by the imaginatively titled "Pretty Things", consisting of Yvonne, Carole, Denise, Spike and Mark, who narrowly beat the 'Marathon Men'.
And most importantly... the Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls FC annual Car Rally 2007 was won by the Pink Panthers. They are pictured below receiving their chocolates and trophy from KLGFC Chairman, Steve Hill. Well done! The Pink Panthers beat off strong competition from the Swift Stars and the Fronteras to claim a victory in the tie-breaker. We hope to see you all come along and try to win the trophy next year! Look out for the next car rally in around 10 or 11 months time!
Car Rally 07 Winners

15/06/07 - To add to the amazing feat of getting all results for the club EVER online yesterday, we now have the Statistics section updated with annual stats since the club began. ('Season Stats' in the 'Stats' menu above.) Every team for every season has stats, as does the club as a whole for each season. Also available are stats for the whole club since forming.
Some examples... The Under 10s scored a league goal on average every 18 minutes this season and the Ladies scored 87 in total this season. The club as a whole was better away than at home this year. We had a goal difference of +17 away (earning 91 points), but a goal difference of -42 at home (earning only 73 points)!!! Looks like we enjoy travelling!
The club's biggest win this year was 14-3, but the biggest win ever was 25-0. (Club records page coming soon!)
Since forming, KLGFC have played 636.5 hours of football over 589 games, winning 311, drawing 50 and losing 228, with a goal difference of +792. Have a look and discover some amazing facts of your own!

14/06/07 - This website now contains every fixture, result, scorer and final league table for every Kingsthorpe LGFC season since the club was formed (2001). They are available in the archive section of the fixtures/results and the league tables within the Matches and Stats menus above. Remember the first ever game you attended? Look up the result and the scorers to check we're not making it up!

08/05/07 - Click here to see a couple of videos with some skills to learn for next season! (Broadband recommended.)

29/04/07 - We are pleased to announce that Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls Football Club is now an FA Charter Standard Development Club. This is a step up from the basic Charter Standard award that we achieved a few years ago. The new status illustrates that we are a club that is still improving, and has plans to develop even further. The main aim for development at present is to improve links with the community and we are currently offering our football coaching expertise to various local schools. Well done to the club committee and all involved with achieving this award.

24/04/07 - Congratulations to Ian Phillips, Pete Robinson and Claire Swift, who all finished the London Marathon on Sunday. Between them, they have raised about £3,000 for Sense (National Deafblind Association). Claire Swift & Pete Robinson ran together from the Blackheath start and finished in 5 hours 55 minutes & 56 seconds. Ian Phillips started at Greenwich and completed the course in 4 hours 42 minutes & 10 seconds.
In an exclusive interview for KLGFC News, Under 14's Leopards manager Ian Phillips commented,

"Hearing the Leopards anthem from the travelling 'Barmy Army' around the streets of London was a huge boost! A fantastic and memorable day for all three runners and their families, in not the best running weather."

Well done from everyone at Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club, and thanks to everyone who supported them!!!

Those who missed the article in the local newspaper can find it here.

17/11/06 - You may notice that there is now a new and improved menu bar, which you use to move around the website. Added with it is the KLGFC/FA anti-bullying policy (see Club --> Policy). Also there is a new downloads section in which you can download the latest club Newsletter (Club --> Downloads). Managers can also download the new accident/first-aid report forms here.

Please note the several important announcements below:-
Use the drop-down menu above to move around the site. At any time, you can click the 'Panthers' logo at the top-left corner of the screen to return to this main page.
Please remember that we have fantastic facilities to use at Cogenhoe. The tuck shop is always open at matches and training, as is the bar in the main clubhouse. Please make the most of them.
The club is currently looking for referees aged 14 or over to help out with refereeing our games. Could anyone interested please contact the club. (Either of the email contacts on this website can be used if required (see Contact tab above).
The Club --> Teams section in the menu above is available with information about all of our teams. Some of the info is missing - please e-mail the webmaster if you can help out with any of the gaps, or missing players. Want something special putting on your team's page? E-mail us and we'll see what we can do! Any suggestions welcome. Player comments page? Particular photo or picture? Poem? Quiz? Let your imagination run wild and then tell us what you want.
Don't forget: Anyone wishing to take photographs of any KLGFC game (including cup finals!) must first ask permission of the team manager. This is for child protection reasons. The club must ensure we have consent from the opposition also.
All parents are encouraged to take the FA's 'Soccer Parent' course. This is an online course with a small test at the end. If you pass, you get a certificate to print off at the end. Please hand in your certificate to the club to become an FA approved soccer parent! A link to the course has been added to the links page on this website. Also available on the same link is 'Soccer Coach' and 'Soccer Kid' - so there's something for everyone!
