Further congratulations go to Katy Sanders, Steve Hill, Matt Jones, Mark Oliver and Alan Smith for winning Spike's Quiz Night on Friday. Many thanks to Spike and Denise Milligan, Carole Jones and Lorraine Rutter for their help putting the event on. £15 profit was put back into the club funds and it was an enjoyable night.
Many thanks to "the Jones family" (Matt, Elly and partner, and Carole) for representing the club at the Cogenhoe fun day.

Breaking news - a 4th suggestion from a player just in!
The club car rally was held today. Many thanks to Ian Rutter and his wife for setting the rally, Carole and Matt Jones, and Lindsey Swaine for the Barbeque. There was a good turn out on an enjoyable day, with ten teams and more turning up for the BBQ/footy. The winners, Phil + Sue Adkins, with Robert and friend are pictured with their trophy below. They won out after a tie-breaker against Amy Milligan, Dannie Charlton and partners Adam and James.
Myself and Colin were invited to Sixfields Stadium on tuesday night to the 2008 Charter Standard Club Awards.

The Under 15s entered two teams into the Woburn Tournament, with two players from the Under 14s. The whites finished third in their group, thanks to a bizarre late goal in their last game. The Reds finished equal first but were placed second on goals scored. They then played Moulton Magpies in the semi-final and won with the score of 3-0 (Sorry Becca - one of our Ladies players that coaches Moulton!). Then the reds played Cambridge City, who had won their semi-final on penalties. The final was a very tight game that went all the way and finished 0-0 AET and again went to penalties. The Reds held their nerve 3-2 to win the tournament. Congratulations! The Ladies competed in the same tournament and lost in the semi-final to a very good Ditton Ladies side. Compliments to Woburn Lionesses for a very well organised tournament.
The under 12s and two Ladies teams entered the tournament at Boldmere Falcons in Birmingham. Again this was a well run tournament, held at a Goals centre. The under 12s unfortunately lost the semi-final on penalties. The ladies finished as runners-up and picked up some nice trophies. The honours page has been updated accordingly
Joanne Gilding has also been given an extended 6 week trail which starts in July. Good luck
The award winners from Presentation Night are now available in the Stats --> Season Awards section.
A mixed u15s/u16s team won the Milton Keynes tournament. Well done girls! They won their group, then won their semi-final 3-0. The final like many of the games was a tight affair and it was 0-0 after extra-time. Kingsthorpe held their nerve to win on penalties. A second team lost the semi-final of the plate competition on penalties.
We are looking for new players for the Ladies teams, including a goalkeeper. We need to add good experienced players to the squad in the higher league and other players to join the other developmental team. Next year's U10s/11s are also currently recruiting for new players. Please get in touch if you are interested.
Statto has been working hard and this year's stats are now online. See the stats/season stats section to check out how your team performed this year. There are also stats for how the whole club fared this season, and also stats for the club since we formed. Some selected facts:
Since forming the club now has an overall goal difference of +988!!! Let's get above +1000 next year!
This season, as a whole club, we won 71 games, but lost only 51. We only lost 19 home games, compared to 28 away.
The Ladies team equalled the club's biggest ever win; 25-0 away at Moulton. This equalled the Under 11s (Pumas) 25-0 home win that has stood since 2003. The Club/Records page has also been updated.
The Ladies Jaguars team scored a goal every 18 mins and 12 secs. The under 16s team only conceded every 62 mins and 12 secs.
Congratulations to Harriet Denton, Rochelle Swaine and Jess Astle, who all scored their first goal for Kingsthorpe after many games for the club.
We are collecting the Tesco vouchers for schools/clubs. Please save yours for KLGFC and hand them in to the collection box in the tuck shop.
Happy Easter from all at Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club!
Well done to the under 12s who join the U16s ub the county cup final. We're already building up quite a Kingsthorpe party at the cup finals!
Katie Light's goal in the Ladies 3-0 win over Kettering Town last week made her the 150th Kingsthorpe player to score for the club!
Messages from anyone visiting our website are much appreaciated. Don't forget to check out the guestbook. Click the link under "Contact Us" above.
06/03/08 - Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls FC appeared in the national female football magazine Fair Game this week. The article features a report of the Ladies winning the cup semi-final, along with a photo of them celebrating! Click here to see the article on the Fair Game website. We also made the front cover of Midlands Football People (pictured).
The football was won by the men, who confidently (if not skillfully) beat the girls in a closely contested and enjoyable game. There were some great skills (ish) and some embarrasing moments (definitely) to remember!
The quiz was won by the imaginatively titled "Pretty Things", consisting of Yvonne, Carole, Denise, Spike and Mark, who narrowly beat the 'Marathon Men'.
And most importantly... the Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls FC annual Car Rally 2007 was won by the Pink Panthers. They are pictured below receiving their chocolates and trophy from KLGFC Chairman, Steve Hill. Well done! The Pink Panthers beat off strong competition from the Swift Stars and the Fronteras to claim a victory in the tie-breaker. We hope to see you all come along and try to win the trophy next year! Look out for the next car rally in around 10 or 11 months time!
"Hearing the Leopards anthem from the travelling 'Barmy Army' around the streets of London was a huge boost! A fantastic and memorable day for all three runners and their families, in not the best running weather."
Well done from everyone at Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club, and thanks to everyone who supported them!!!
Use the drop-down menu above to move around the site. At any time, you can click the 'Panthers' logo at the top-left corner of the screen to return to this main page.
Please remember that we have fantastic facilities to use at Cogenhoe. The tuck shop is always open at matches and training, as is the bar in the main clubhouse. Please make the most of them.
The club is currently looking for referees aged 14 or over to help out with refereeing our games. Could anyone interested please contact the club. (Either of the email contacts on this website can be used if required (see Contact tab above).
The Club --> Teams section in the menu above is available with information about all of our teams. Some of the info is missing - please e-mail the webmaster if you can help out with any of the gaps, or missing players. Want something special putting on your team's page? E-mail us and we'll see what we can do! Any suggestions welcome. Player comments page? Particular photo or picture? Poem? Quiz? Let your imagination run wild and then tell us what you want.
Don't forget: Anyone wishing to take photographs of any KLGFC game (including cup finals!) must first ask permission of the team manager. This is for child protection reasons. The club must ensure we have consent from the opposition also.
All parents are encouraged to take the FA's 'Soccer Parent' course. This is an online course with a small test at the end. If you pass, you get a certificate to print off at the end. Please hand in your certificate to the club to become an FA approved soccer parent! A link to the course has been added to the links page on this website. Also available on the same link is 'Soccer Coach' and 'Soccer Kid' - so there's something for everyone!
