16/11/08 - Congratulations to the U16s Leopards who brilliantly reached our first cup final of the season! (Yes... I know it's still November!) They put in a brilliant performance to beat Earls Barton 5-0 in today's semi-final. Meanwhile, the Ladies progressed to the quarter finals with an excellent 11-3 win over Woodford United. Continuing with the weekend's good results, the U15s managed an impressive 7-0 win over Earls Barton and the league-leading Ladies Jaguars team also earned an excellent 1-0 win away at Abington Athletic.

12/11/08 - KLGFC is on Facebook! Join the group and keep in touch with all the club members. We will also post information about forthcoming events on there to keep everyone in touch. Add your own team photos, comment on other photos and/or leave a message for people in the club to read. Spread the word and let's see how many fans we have! If you're on Facebook (or join it) follow the link here

26/10/08 - Everyone at Kingsthorpe LGFC would like to congratulate Danielle Charlton on becoming the first ever player to score 200 goals for Kingsthorpe. From her first goals in under 14s 7-a-side in November 2002 through to Women's football in October 2008; a fantastic achievement of which we are all very proud. Well done Dannie! Dannie scored her 200th from the penalty spot, and then bagged a brilliant 20 yard left footed strike in the Ladies 5-2 victory over local rivals Abington Athletic.

12/10/08 - A big KLGFC WELL DONE to Maisie Brudenall who scored her 100th goal for the club, which was the second of two quality strikes in the Jag's 10-1 demolition of Moulton Fields this afternoon. Maisie becomes the fifth KLGFC player of all time to reach the magic 100 mark.

17/09/08 - Congratulations to Lauren Smith who reached the magic 50 goal mark with a double at the weekend taking her to 51. Meanwhile, Maisie Brudenall is just 6 away from becoming the fifth ever player to reach 100 goals for the club. Dannie Charlton is now also just 5 away from becoming the club's first ever player to reach 200 goals.

07/09/08 - The season is underway and reports from the Ladies and U15s games are now available.

25/08/08 - Please come along and support the Steve Price Football Quiz night. Friday 29th August @ Cogenhoe - 8pm start. Teams of four - £10 entry for the team. If you don't have a full team, come along anyway as there are already many people looking to make up a team on the night. There are prizes for the top teams and it is always a most enjoyable evening. We are also looking for raffle prizes if anyone has anything they can donate.
We are urgently looking for new players to join now, ready for next season (starting September 2008) for the following teams... Ladies (two teams 16+), Under 15s, Under 14s, and Under 10s. Please get in touch if you are interested, and spread the word to those who might be interested! The club can be contacted via the 'Contact Us' tab above. Some managers also have contact details on their team page. ('Club --> Teams' above.)
The website is now updated and ready for the start of the 2008-09 season. All of the new season's fixtures are now online. Good luck to all the teams. The details of all results, scorers, league tables and match reports since the club began are still available here on kingsthorpegirlsfc.co.uk in our huge archive. Simply navigate through the menus above.

28/06/08 - The presentation evening award winners and club statistics are now online. Would you believe that...
this year the club played 107 games, with 54 wins and 44 losses, and a goal difference of +44?
the clubs biggest victory this season was 17-3 against Kettering Generals? (Well done the under 14s!)
we scored a goal every 25 minutes, 12 seconds this season?
since forming, the club has scored 2582 goals in just 696 games?
in our entire existence we have a better goal difference away than at home (even though we've won more at home)?

Well done to the Under 13s for reaching their first ever tournament final at the weekend, which they narrowly lost 1-0. A great achievement to finish as runners up of the Corby Kingswood Juniors tournament.

15/06/08 - The club honours and records pages have been updated. The most notable honours this season were FOUR teams finishing as Weetabix League runners-up and FOUR League Cup finalists (two winning). The main addition to the records page is Bethany Watts' 6 goals against FC Aztec registering her as scoring the most goals by one individual in a Ken Burton League Cup game. Statto's been busy and the full stats package will be added to the site in the next few days.
A reminder of the dates for your diary...
We are looking for people to join the KLGFC committee. Contact Steve Hill, your Team Rep, or your Manager. You would need to attend committee meetings held in the Club House on the second Monday of every month at 7:30pm.
We are also looking for sponsors for some of the teams for next season. If you or your work place are interested, please contact club chairman Steve Hill Mobile: 07702-250669.

11/05/08 - A great day for Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club, with three teams competing in the Weetabix YFL League Cup Finals at Corby Triangle, the Under 11s, Under 14s and the Under 17s (Jags). Well done to all the teams, especially the U11s and U17s who both overcame their League champions to win the Cup. An excellent photographic celebraton of the day can be found here.
A new photo of the Ladies team has been added to their page.

Another magazine front cover 06/03/08 - Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls FC appeared in the national female football magazine Fair Game this week. The article features a report of the Ladies winning the cup semi-final, along with a photo of them celebrating! Click here to see the article on the Fair Game website. We also made the front cover of Midlands Football People (pictured).

Further coverage of the game, including FIFTY FIVE photographs (all three goals are captured, there are four great shots of the second goal and one of the winner hitting the back of the net), can be found on Glenn Lawrence's website www.ladiesfootball.moonfruit.com.

12/02/08 - The race night was a success and made some money to help support the club. Many thanks to those who attended and/or sponsored a race or a horse.

20/11/07 - Well done to Hannah Glasspool for becoming the 14th Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls player to reach the magic 50 goal mark. Hannah needed four goals this week to reach 50, but not content with that, Hannah fired home SEVEN in the Under 13's 11-0 win over Drayton Grange!!! Lauren Smith is currently the next player in line to reach 50 goals for the club.

12/11/07 - Scoring a lot of goals? The club records page has been expanded (found under 'Club' above). It now includes records for the highest number of consecutive games scored in, and also the most consecutive games a player has scored a hat-trick in. For example, Charlotte Burrows scored a hat-trick in 6 consecutive games in 2004, and scored in 35 consecutive games!!!
Have you got any suggestions for imporvements to the website? If so, please let us know using the contact page. It's your website so we'll try to give you what you want.

20/08/07 - Please remember that the club is run by volunteers and we are always looking for more volunteers to help out. This can be anything from coaching to marking pitches, to helping in the tuck shop, to becoming part of the committee. At the moment we particularly need someone to take minutes at monthly committee meetings and referees for the games of all teams. If you can help (with ANYTHING), please don't assume that you are not needed because nobody has asked you specifically. Volunteer! We need you! Please see any manager or committee member for more information or to volunteer. The club can also be contacted via the Contact Us pages of this website. For those not interested in volunteering, please try to support any of our fun days and activities, and encourage friends and family to do the same. Not only will you all have a great time, but it raises valuable funds to keep the club going. Thank you.

23/07/07 - Thanks to everyone who attended all or part of yesterday's fun day. Everyone had a great time and we also raised over £70 for the club. Thanks also to everyone who volunteered to help make the event possible and so enjoyable.
The football was won by the men, who confidently (if not skillfully) beat the girls in a closely contested and enjoyable game. There were some great skills (ish) and some embarrasing moments (definitely) to remember!
The quiz was won by the imaginatively titled "Pretty Things", consisting of Yvonne, Carole, Denise, Spike and Mark, who narrowly beat the 'Marathon Men'.
And most importantly... the Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls FC annual Car Rally 2007 was won by the Pink Panthers. They are pictured below receiving their chocolates and trophy from KLGFC Chairman, Steve Hill. Well done! The Pink Panthers beat off strong competition from the Swift Stars and the Fronteras to claim a victory in the tie-breaker. We hope to see you all come along and try to win the trophy next year! Look out for the next car rally in around 10 or 11 months time!

15/06/07 - To add to the amazing feat of getting all results for the club EVER online yesterday, we now have the Statistics section updated with annual stats since the club began. ('Season Stats' in the 'Stats' menu above.) Every team for every season has stats, as does the club as a whole for each season. Also available are stats for the whole club since forming.
Some examples... The Under 10s scored a league goal on average every 18 minutes this season and the Ladies scored 87 in total this season. The club as a whole was better away than at home this year. We had a goal difference of +17 away (earning 91 points), but a goal difference of -42 at home (earning only 73 points)!!! Looks like we enjoy travelling!
The club's biggest win this year was 14-3, but the biggest win ever was 25-0. (Club records page coming soon!)
Since forming, KLGFC have played 636.5 hours of football over 589 games, winning 311, drawing 50 and losing 228, with a goal difference of +792. Have a look and discover some amazing facts of your own!

14/06/07 - This website now contains every fixture, result, scorer and final league table for every Kingsthorpe LGFC season since the club was formed (2001). They are available in the archive section of the fixtures/results and the league tables within the Matches and Stats menus above. Remember the first ever game you attended? Look up the result and the scorers to check we're not making it up!

08/05/07 - Click here to see a couple of videos with some skills to learn for next season! (Broadband recommended.)

29/04/07 - We are pleased to announce that Kingsthorpe Ladies and Girls Football Club is now an FA Charter Standard Development Club. This is a step up from the basic Charter Standard award that we achieved a few years ago. The new status illustrates that we are a club that is still improving, and has plans to develop even further. The main aim for development at present is to improve links with the community and we are currently offering our football coaching expertise to various local schools. Well done to the club committee and all involved with achieving this award.

24/04/07 - Congratulations to Ian Phillips, Pete Robinson and Claire Swift, who all finished the London Marathon on Sunday. Between them, they have raised about £3,000 for Sense (National Deafblind Association). Claire Swift & Pete Robinson ran together from the Blackheath start and finished in 5 hours 55 minutes & 56 seconds. Ian Phillips started at Greenwich and completed the course in 4 hours 42 minutes & 10 seconds.
In an exclusive interview for KLGFC News, Under 14's Leopards manager Ian Phillips commented,

"Hearing the Leopards anthem from the travelling 'Barmy Army' around the streets of London was a huge boost! A fantastic and memorable day for all three runners and their families, in not the best running weather."

Well done from everyone at Kingsthorpe Ladies & Girls Football Club, and thanks to everyone who supported them!!!

Those who missed the article in the local newspaper can find it here.

17/11/06 - You may notice that there is now a new and improved menu bar, which you use to move around the website. Added with it is the KLGFC/FA anti-bullying policy (see Club --> Policy). Also there is a new downloads section in which you can download the latest club Newsletter (Club --> Downloads). Managers can also download the new accident/first-aid report forms here.

Please note the several important announcements below:-
Use the drop-down menu above to move around the site. At any time, you can click the 'Panthers' logo at the top-left corner of the screen to return to this main page.
Please remember that we have fantastic facilities to use at Cogenhoe. The tuck shop is always open at matches and training, as is the bar in the main clubhouse. Please make the most of them.
The club is currently looking for referees aged 14 or over to help out with refereeing our games. Could anyone interested please contact the club. (Either of the email contacts on this website can be used if required (see Contact tab above).
The Club --> Teams section in the menu above is available with information about all of our teams. Some of the info is missing - please e-mail the webmaster if you can help out with any of the gaps, or missing players. Want something special putting on your team's page? E-mail us and we'll see what we can do! Any suggestions welcome. Player comments page? Particular photo or picture? Poem? Quiz? Let your imagination run wild and then tell us what you want.
Don't forget: Anyone wishing to take photographs of any KLGFC game (including cup finals!) must first ask permission of the team manager. This is for child protection reasons. The club must ensure we have consent from the opposition also.
All parents are encouraged to take the FA's 'Soccer Parent' course. This is an online course with a small test at the end. If you pass, you get a certificate to print off at the end. Please hand in your certificate to the club to become an FA approved soccer parent! A link to the course has been added to the links page on this website. Also available on the same link is 'Soccer Coach' and 'Soccer Kid' - so there's something for everyone!
